7 Fun Ways to Make Father’s Day Special

7 Fun Ways to Make Father’s Day Special

16th Jun 2015

Ways to Make Father’s Day SpecialFather’s Day is next week, so it’s important we take special care of our dads and show them how much we care. You don’t have to spend a lot of money or pamper him for the day, but you should defiantly do something as a nice gesture. Here are some simple pieces of advice you should use to make Father’s Day special.

1. Take the pressure off him – List some things dad would normally do on that day. Does he mow the lawn on Sundays? Does the car need its oil changed? Give him a complete day of relaxation by taking care of these annoyances ahead of time. Don’t ask him to do any chores or help you solve any problems.

2. Make sure there is plenty of quality time – It’s easy these days to get wrapped up in our smartphones and Netflix and forget the people close to us. Make sure on Father’s Day you show dad appreciation by spending lots of time together. If dad pops down to the store, go for a ride with him. If he’s catching up with his favorite show, watch it with him.

3. Focus on dad – Instead of planning everything down to the minute, give dad some freedom to decide what he wants to do with his day, even if it’s not something you would enjoy. If he wants to see the newest action movie, go along. If he just wants to watch a full ball game, give him some space.

4. Tell him how much you need him – Whether you give your dad an elaborate gift, a simple handmade craft or just a hug, make sure you let him know how much you love him and appreciate everything he does for you. You could even make a video expressing how much you care so he can watch it whenever he likes.

5. Be romantic – This tip is for moms. It’s easy to get lost in the day-to-day grind of being a parent and forget to show your partner how much you care. They say you should never forget to “date your partner” during marriage, so use this as an opportunity to go out on a special date. Tell him how much he means to you and how much you appreciate all he does for the family.

6. Let dad sleep! – Often being a dad means giving up your weekend sleep. Give dad a break by turning off his alarm clock and letting any of obligations slide (or take care of them yourself like in tip #1).

7. Cook him his favorite meal – There’s something about food that brings people together, so it’s a great way to celebrate any holiday. Make dad whatever he loves the most, even if it doesn’t make sense, like pancakes and spaghetti.

Alicia is wife, mother, and creator of Baby Elephant Ears. Baby Elephant Ears was created out of parental concern, not financial desire. In 2005, when their second child was an infant, he cried all the time and just couldn't seem to get comfortable.

After seeking advice and suggestion from the medical community and alternative medicine, they eventually ended up in the chiropractors office where their baby was successfully treated for asubluxation, discomfort most likely the result of the strain during labor, which was now being exacerbated by the normal lack of infant neck strength. Only proper neck, head, and back alignment would offer him relief. When they couldn't find a product to give their baby the necessary support, Alicia took matters into her own hands and crafted her own infant support pillow. The first Baby Elephant Ears was born!
